Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

The Crustacean Society Summer Meeting 2025 in Paris (hereafter referred to as TCS) is organized by Sorbonne University and The French National Natural History Museum. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants, regardless of ethnicity, religion, national origin, professional status, physical appearance, physical ability, neurodivergence, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or any other personal characteristics.

By participating in any activities of the 2025 TCS Summer Meeting, you voluntarily agree to abide by this Code of Conduct, which applies to all sessions, social events, site visits, and interactions within the community.

Expectations

We ask that all participants make every effort to maintain constructive and civil discourse at all times. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Speakers respecting designated time limits.

  • Attendees being mindful to balance speaking and listening time.

  • Especially welcoming newcomers, early-career participants, and volunteers to our community.

Complaints and Reporting

If you experience harassment or witness any inappropriate behavior, or if you have concerns about participant safety, please contact us immediately at tcs2025@sciencesconf.org or via our Instagram account @tcs2025Paris. We will respond promptly. In case of emergency, please dial 112.

Use of Images and Media

Authors are responsible for using only original images or graphics that they own or for which they have permission to use, including AI-generated text or images. Proper licensing for all graphics must be ensured. If your slides or posters require licenses (e.g., Creative Commons) or cannot be shared, such restrictions must be clearly indicated on the affected media.

Attendees are requested to respect presenters’ “no sharing” policies or attribution licenses posted on slides, posters, or other media. Conference participants may not share links to sessions with non-registrants outside the official conference platform (e.g., on social media).

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

  • Harassment and Discrimination: Including verbal, physical, or written harassment based on gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or other personal characteristics.

  • Intimidation or Abuse: Deliberate intimidation, stalking, inappropriate physical contact, or unwelcome attention.

  • Disruption: Sustained interruptions of sessions, panels, or other conference activities.

  • Retaliation: Any threats or intimidation toward individuals reporting violations or supporting such reports.

  • Unwanted Photography: Taking photographs of participants without their consent.

Enforcement and Consequences

Violations of this Code of Conduct will be addressed at the discretion of the Conference Organizing Committee, potentially in coordination with relevant organizational representatives. Possible consequences include:

  • Immediate removal from conference activities without refund.

  • Prohibition from attending future events or forums.

  • Reporting to relevant authorities or employers as necessary.

Additional Venue Rules

  • The conference venue is strictly non-smoking.

  • Please do not bring food into the meeting rooms.
